Help pay for Mom’s medical needs and caregiving assistance
Donation protected

Hi. My name is Tracy. Thank you for taking a moment to read my story. Our situation is an urgent one. I am in desperate need of donations to assist with medical supplies, prescriptions and caregiving services for my mother.
My mom suffers from Parkinson’s Disease and Dementia, which was made worse by a Traumatic Brain Injury suffered during a fall. She now needs full-time supervision and care, which I have provided her while also caring for and supporting my brother who has undergone multiple back surgeries and suffers debilitating pain. He is now battling Stage 3 cancer of the throat, tongue and tonsils and will require major surgery after chemotherapy failed to eradicate it.
I was laid off from my job last year and have been directing all of my time and financial resources to helping my mother and brother. At this point, all of my funds are depleted and I’m unable to continue as a full-time caregiver without some support. I need to return to work to provide for my family.
What I am asking for is the gift of time and short-term assistance with medical expenses. I say that you are gifting me with time because I have none at the moment to devote to anything but my family’s care. Your gift will help me pay for my Mom’s medical needs and caretaking services so that I can regain employment since I am the only source of income for our household.
For anyone who has been a caregiver, you understand the physical, emotional, financial and psychological challenges that come with the territory. You also know the privilege and gratitude we feel in being able to help the ones we love in their time of need. The stress, depression, feelings of being overwhelmed, and exhaustion are things I can overcome with God’s help, but I know that I also need to humble myself and ask for the help of others at a time of crisis when I can’t afford prescriptions, medical supplies or health insurance, much less the assistance of a caretaker.
The unfortunate truth about Parkinson’s is that it is degenerative and there is no cure. Accepting that truth breaks my heart every day. And now I can’t fathom the thought of losing my brother to cancer. I committed myself to ensuring my family’s health, safety and well being, and I’m ashamed to be falling short of that commitment in no longer being able to provide for their most urgent needs. So, I’m asking for your help.
Words cannot express how grateful I am for any gift you are able to contribute. A four-pack of briefs costs nearly $54. Several of Mom’s prescriptions are more than $100 each. The cost of a full-time caregiver ranges from $720 to $1,000 per week, which is why even part-time assistance would be a blessing. No matter what you are able to donate, it is so deeply appreciated and will make an immediate and significant difference to my family. May the Lord bless you for your kindness and generosity.
With a very grateful heart,
Tracy
