Help Needed for Emory’s Recovery
Donation protected
As many of you know, on Friday, January 3, my brother in law, Emory was rushed to the hospital, unable to breathe. The paramedics arrived to find no pulse or blood pressure and immediately intubated him. He was diagnosed with double pneumonia, COVID-19, acute respiratory failure, and several other serious conditions. On Saturday, January 4, he was life-flighted to Danville, where doctors placed him on an ECMO machine to help flush toxins from his body and give his lungs a chance to heal and also kidney dialysis to help with that as well.
Emory’s road to recovery will be long—he may need to stay in the hospital for weeks, if not months. During this time, his wife, Desari, will be traveling back and forth daily to care for their children and maintain some sense of normalcy in their lives. With her now the sole income provider for the family, the financial burden of bills, food, gas, and everyday expenses is falling squarely on her shoulders.
We are asking for your help. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly to Desari to help with these expenses during this difficult time. Your support will allow her to focus on being there for Emory, their children, and keeping their lives running smoothly.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this message with your network would mean the world to us. Or just prayer because we could never have too much of that. Emory and Desari are the type of people who have always gone out of their way to help others. Now, they need our support more than ever.
Thank you for your generosity, love, and kindness. We are incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide.
