A warm hello to all our friends, family and loved ones. I'm Joy and I'm speaking on behalf of my siblings Michelle, Ever, Dennis and our dad Jun. My family and I have been dealing with sudden and devasting news privately, but now feel it's necessary to share it with others. We are in the biggest family emergency of our lives and kindly asking for everyone's immediate help and prayers.

Our mom (Cora) has been in the Philippines vacationing with our dad since January. She started having severe stomach pain, unable to eat, drink, make bowel movements and has been hospitalized in the Philippines since April 8, 2025. After much testing we're heartbroken to share she's been diagnosed with intestinal cancer. We're still waiting on biopsy results for severity of cancer (stage, etc.).

Currently she's still experiencing stomach pain and also suffering from severe malnourishment, causing her to lose a drastic amount of weight and making her extremely weak. She's attempted to be tube fed but her stomach's still rejecting food and in pain. The only nutrients she's receiving is through liquid IV treatment, but there are risks for this being the only form of eating and continues to be malnourished.

The next option is for her to have surgery of inserting a feeding tube in another part of her stomach, hoping this won't cause her pain and finally get food in her system to give her strength to fly back home to San Diego.

Unfortunately in the Philippines, health procedures can take way too long to get going compared to getting treatment back home in San Diego. Also, our parents' health insurance is not 100% covered in the Philippines so the out of pocket costs are piling up (already costing thousands).

So the next plan is to urgently get her flown back home to San Diego through emergency medical evacuation- she'll have a medical team and all necessary care needed to travel safely and right away. Sadly this will also cost thousands out of pocket. We're kindly asking for anyone that's able to please help donate any amount, big or small, as soon as possible. She's in critical condition with uncertain outcomes if she stays in the Philippines. Our hope is to get her home to San Diego immediately and get the proper treatment she needs to save her life.
