Urgent Help Needed for Cookie the Therapy Pug

Donation protected
Cookie, an 8-year-old therapy pug, was admitted to the Emergency Animal Referral Hospital in Homebush on May 24, 2025, with severe abdominal pain and bloody diarrhoea.

She has been diagnosed with a haemorrhaging gallbladder, infection, and peritonitis.

Immediate surgery to remove the gallbladder is critical to prevent rupture and potential fatality.

Her devoted owner, Catherine, is under immense financial strain and stress, having already spent $8,000 on emergency care and facing an additional $10,000 for the necessary surgery.

Catherine has always been selfless, helping others and putting herself last, volunteering with the RSPCA in Yagoona where she fostered Cookie and eventually ended up adopting her. In addition, Catherine is active in rescuing street cats.

Cookie, in turn, has been a source of comfort and joy as a pet therapy dog, visiting local nursing homes and uplifting the spirits of elderly residents.

We are seeking donations to help cover Cookie’s medical expenses.

Any contribution, large or small, will make a significant difference and help ensure that Cookie can continue her vital role in the community.

See below the current bills and payments to-date, a further $10k has been quoted for the Gall Bladder Removal.
