Hello, my name is Chloe and I'm a trans woman who's been living in Seattle since 2018.

I abruptly learned today that my roommate has decided to not continue to pay her share of the rent, despite us both continuing to be on the lease with several more months left on it. I got caught in one of the mass layoffs in August of 2025 and have been job searching since, unfortunately with no luck yet.

I am continuing my job search and have some leads, but nothing concrete yet, and as such I cannot pay double rent with what little savings I have currently. I have already been covering her share of the other bills with no repayment for months, I cannot afford double rent on top of it.

I'm asking for these funds to help cover her share of the rent for a couple months while I find a replacement roommate. I've paid for this month's full rent myself as to not accrue fees, at a massive cost to myself. Any help is appreciated, monetarily or traction wise. I hate doing this and have never been in this situation before and am already trying to gain stability through job searching, so this is a very unpleasant unexpected happening as well.
