I am Bruce's wife. Bruce is heading into surgery in a couple hours, for perforated intestines/colon. He may need part of his intestine(s) removed, and possibly an ostomy bag - he may even need to have the wound remain open for draining the abscess.

He will be unable to perform his music jobs for the foreseeable future, which means we will have only his social security, which isn't enough. He has also been driving our vehicle without a working heater since November, as we have not had the funds to get it fixed.

Since Bruce is an Army veteran, he does get some of his care covered through the VA, but not everything. We are in serious financial straights and will be in the deficit in our bank within a week, unable to pay our utility bills, and if that happens, our landlord can have us evicted. This is hard for me to do - asking for financial help, but we really need it. I am unable to drive, can't be at the hospital with him, and am on my own. We have NO family in this state to help.
