My husband, Bijaya Ghimire, MD, is currently in the hospital at UK Lexington fighting for his life. He needs to have a heart transplant work-up. The problem we are facing is he does not have insurance that will cover the work-up; our new insurance starts November 1st. The cardiologist told us today that he CANNOT WAIT until then. We need to do the work-up in the next few days. Once he has the work-up, they will place him on a mechanical heart pump. We are being told the cost will be $250,000 upfront. We are in the process of trying to get the money, but it takes time to sell property, and WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME.
