Urgent Help Needed for Baby Bailey – Fighting for His Life

Baby Bailey, the tiniest of a litter of 12 puppies, is fighting for his life at the emergency vet tonight. Tragically, five of his siblings have already passed away, and six remain in urgent need of medical care.

Earlier tonight, March 24, his foster noticed he wasn’t eating and was growing weaker. When I saw that he was barely moving and whimpering, I asked foster to rush him to Blue Pearl ER. The vets confirmed he is severely anemic, with a dangerously low red blood cell count of just 6% (it should be over 20%). Hookworms have drained him to this critical state.

Bailey needs an urgent blood transfusion to survive, and I am praying he pulls through. He remains under emergency care while his foster, who has an infant, had to return home. His six surviving siblings also need immediate veterinary attention, as they likely have hookworms as well.
