Hello, my name is Abbie Fish. I grew up in Alaska and my family lives in Southeast Sitka. I am currently in Kodiak due to following my ex-husband up here since he was in the Coast Guard. We separated in the year 2024 and divorced in Feb of 2025. I was supposed to return to Sitka in March, but ended up getting stuck in Kodiak due to the ERD (Early Return of Dependents) canceling two days before my travel date. After that happened, I had been living with my friend turned partner, but as of 8/29 he ended the relationship suddenly, and now I am faced with becoming homeless due to there being no affordable housing available in Kodiak.

I have weighed the options of getting rid of my vehicle; however, there aren't any vehicle options in Sitka due to it being a smaller island, therefore I would be unable to transit to a job. The funds I need help with are so that I can get myself and my vehicle off of Kodiak and back home where I have my family/support system. I don't have the coverage for shipping my vehicle, which is what the funds will be going towards. I recieved the quote from the shipping service of $5,356.78 subject to change based on them reviewing the vehicle. My goal is to be back home by the end of September given how urgent the situation I am in is.

This has been an extremely challenging situation for me as this has been so sudden and now being faced with becoming homeless somewhere that I don't have a support system. I wouldn't normally consider using GoFundMe for anything, but this is an emergency situation for my wellbeing and safety. Any amount helps and is immensely appreciated for helping me get back to my family and out of Kodiak.
