My name is Aly Jouejati and I’m from the United States. I’m setting up this fundraiser for my friend Khalil al-Jedaili in Gaza. The funds will be collected for his family and his family of origin. These funds are needed to evacuate them safely to Egypt so they don’t have to endure the threat of bombing and starvation in Gaza.
The al-Jedaili family has experienced 4 separate genocidal campaigns and a 17-year-old blockade imposed on the enclave by Israel. During the 2008-2009 war, the family sought shelter in their relative’s house in the al-Bureij refugee camp when it was hit by the Israeli air force resulting in the death of their youngest son of the family, Mohannad al-Jedaili (7 years old). In that same attack, Khalil al-Jedaili lost both of his legs, and his brother, Abdelhadi, suffered from shrapnel wounds that took away his left eye.
I used to reside in the United Arab Emirates and volunteered with the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) in 2010. That is how I met Khalil, Abdelhadi, and their father Aamer al-Jedaili when the PCRF helped bring them to Dubai so they could get prosthetics for their injuries. Since then, we have remained friends. During his stay in Dubai, Khalil also practiced to learn how to scuba dive, which he has been passionate about ever since. The following links speak of Khalil’s story:
Today, the al-Jedaili family have lost their homes, their neighborhoods are unrecognizable, their neighbors were killed in airstrikes, and have gone through internal displacement and separation from each other numerous times due to Israeli military aggression. They have spent time living with other people in their homes, have had to endure the harsh conditions of living in tents in Rafah during rainfall, waiting for long hours to receive humanitarian aid (which isn’t even guaranteed most of the time), they need to find food for their children before they could find food for themselves, they are cut off from internet access most of the time and aren’t in contact with each other or with the outside world. All this with the constant threat of Israeli aerial bombardment and by Israeli soldiers on the ground.
We are hoping that the funds collected from this fundraiser will help get the al-Jedaili family to Egypt safely. The visa to enter Egypt would cost 5k USD per person.

The funds will go to my US bank account because GoFundMe doesn’t recognize bank accounts in Palestine. I will then proceed to send whatever I receive to Abdelhadi al-Jedaili’s bank account which he can withdraw from a Bank of Palestine ATM in Gaza. I will also post updates whenever he has received the money and updates on their situation.
Since this world system would rather see the Palestinians in Gaza suffer, it’s our responsibility to support them as an alternative. Therefore, any type of amount you send (or even just sharing this page) will be much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
