Our hearts are broken as we share the devastating news that our mom, Corie, has passed away.

Her decline happened so quickly. One moment, we were holding on to hope, praying for more time together and then, just like that, she was gone. It still doesn’t feel real. We’re in shock, in grief, and trying to find the strength to get through each hour without her.

Corie was the kind of mother who gave everything she had to her children. She was strong, selfless, full of love, and always put everyone else before herself. She was the heart of our family and losing her has left a pain we can’t put into words.

In the middle of our heartbreak, we’re faced with the impossible task of trying to lay her to rest with the dignity and peace she deserves. We weren’t prepared for this, emotionally or financially, and we need help.

We’re raising funds to cover her cremation and celebration of life expenses. Any remaining funds will go into savings for her 12-year-old daughter, who now has to grow up without her mom. Corie loved her with everything she had and we want to make sure her daughter is supported, protected, and given a future filled with the love and care Corie would have provided.

Hi, my name is Emi Martínez and I’m raising funds for my beautiful mom, Corie, who is currently in critical condition at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She is battling congestive heart failure and multi-system organ failure.

As if watching her suffer through this terrifying illness weren’t hard enough, we’re faced with something that makes everything even worse. Corie has no safe home to return to.

Her apartment was found to have severe, toxic mold. If she goes back there, it could harm her further, but now we’re left with nowhere for her to go. She’s too sick to be on her own, and she urgently needs a clean, safe environment, medications, equipment, and support after discharge.

I am doing everything in my power to care for her, but the emotional and financial burden is overwhelming. That’s why I’m reaching out for help.

All donations will go directly to me, her daughter, so I can:

- Secure safe housing for Corie to recover in

- Pay for her medications, supplies, and medical equipment (if needed)

- Cover in-home care and transportation

- Help with food and daily living costs to provide for her

My mom has always been a fighter, always putting others first, even when she had nothing left to give. She’s not ready to give up, but right now, she can’t do this without help.
