Urgent: Help my family to evacuate from war ASAP

We are writing to you under non-human circumstances in Gaza due to the war since October seventh 2023.

My family and I didn't think that we would ask for a global funded assistance one day, but 7 months of war have forced us to do so! And here is our story:

My name is Ramez ALi Almughanni. I am a political writer living in Gaza city in Palestine. Besides my career as a politician, I owned and ran a small business.

I'm so lucky to have a small, lovely family of a wife and two kids, an 8-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy.

We were living in a beautiful house in Gaza. Built it with love, piece by piece, and it took me 4 years to finish it completely. Since October seventh, there has been a significant change in my life! The war started on Gaza, and the bad and sad things are starting to happen and dramatically raised.

My house was hit by an air attack, but we were fortunate enough to escape unscathed! Later on, we were displaced to the south of Gaza, and the war started to destroy the entire city.

As a result, I lost both my home and business. After reaching south Gaza, my family and I faced a huge suffering, first of all we were searching for a safe place to spend our first night there, we were lucky to have friends to help us. The suffering became much worse when we found ourselves in a hunger situation due to the siege and a shortage of drinking water with no electricity.

And sadly, all that is happening in the current century. But none of that is comparable to the amount of destruction and loss in lives and harsh bombing especially at night.

I remember one of those nights, midnight on February 12th, 2024. We woke up to massive explosions and thought it was the end of our lives. And what broke my heart, when I saw my kids in an unbelievable situation of fear, shaking hands and bodies, and I can't do anything to save them but hug them, and wait for that crazy bombing to end. The fear that I felt in my children's eyes is still present in my memory. It was an unforgettable night.

A few days later, the army began to declare threats against Rafah city, which is currently the most densely populated city.

And now, unfortunately, we don't have a place to go. As a father, all I care about is the safety of my family and their future, and unfortunately none of that is available after destroying hospitals, schools, universities and all kinds of civilian life in Gaza because of the war.

So we made the hard decision to depart from Gaza and start a new life literally from zero. But leaving Gaza is not that easy, the Egyptian authority asks us to pay 5 thousand dollars for each person who wants to only cross the border, and after 7 months of genocide war and losing all sources of my income, we found ourselves not able to pay that amount of money. So we humbly request your aid in achieving that objective.

My two kids and wife need to depart from Gaza as soon as possible. In order to save their lives and begin a new life full of peace, love, and hope.
