Hi, my name is Jared Oh, and I’m asking for your help for someone who truly deserves it.

My friend Mikaela Thepvongsa (@mikaelachavezt) is going through an incredibly difficult time. She and her two beloved dogs, Bean and Sophie, are facing serious challenges all at once. Mikaela is managing ongoing health issues, while Sophie is also dealing with her own medical concerns. At the same time, Mikaela has been living in unsafe apartment conditions including mold, water leaks, ceiling cracks, inaccessible fire/smoke alarms for the deaf, and a non-functioning shower that has not been properly addressed by property management.

Because of these conditions, Mikaela was forced to leave her home without support and is now trying to secure a safe place to live. This comes with urgent and overwhelming costs, including movers, a security deposit, and first and last month’s rent.

Mikaela is a deaf registered nurse who works both her primary job and per diem shifts while navigating her own medical challenges. She also dedicates her time to educating and advocating for the deaf community and others with disabilities.

Even through all of this, Mikaela continues to show strength, kindness, and dedication to others. Now, she needs support.

Due to worsening health conditions and the numerous barriers, we’re hoping to raise funds to help Mikaela secure safe housing and cover essential expenses so she can focus on her health and caring for Bean and Sophie. If you’re able to donate or share this fundraiser, it would truly mean the world.
