Dear friends, family, and kind supporters,
Our family is going through an incredibly difficult time following the sudden and tragic loss of our beloved brother, Michael. His death occurred in the UK under heartbreaking circumstances, and we are now involved in ongoing legal proceedings related to his death.
Michael was the most gentle and caring person you could ever hope to meet. He had a big heart and was always ready to help anyone in need, no matter what. He brought so much love and warmth to our lives, and he made everyone feel welcome and valued. His loss has left an emptiness that words simply cannot describe.
As we try to navigate this painful chapter, the associated costs have become overwhelming. We are currently facing substantial expenses for travel, accommodation, and food while attending the trial for Michael's death abroad in England. On top of this, we are still working to pay off Michael’s funeral costs, which amount to several thousand euros.
If anything changes between now and the trial — for example, if there is a guilty plea — please know that all funds raised will go directly towards paying off Michael’s funeral with Thompsons Funeral Home. Any remaining funds will be donated to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust, who did so much to help us bring our brother back home to Waterford so we could lay him to rest where he belongs.
The Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust is an incredible charity that supports grieving families by covering the costs of repatriating loved ones who have died abroad. They stepped in when we needed them most, handling the practicalities and expenses that we simply couldn’t have managed alone. Their kindness, guidance, and support made it so much easier for us to get our big brother home, and we will be forever grateful for everything they did for our family during this devastating time.
This fundraiser is being set up to help ease some of the financial burden so that we can focus on what matters most — honoring Michael’s memory and seeking justice.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would mean the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page with others instead.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, support, and understanding during this time.
With gratitude and love,
Michael’s Family
