URGENT - Help Me Stay in Scotland!

My name is AJ Roy and I am a filmmaker and performing artist currently living in Glasgow, Scotland.

I just learned my visa is expiring DAYS before it expires. I have until 22nd November 2024 (2 weeks!) to apply for a new visa but it is EXPENSIVE!

Please help me to raise funds to apply for this visa! If I can't afford to apply, I have to leave the country and go back to the states. There are plenty of reasons why it's not safe for me to do so but the main reason is my lack of funds! If I knew my visa was expiring so soon, I would have been able to find ways of raising the funds or I could have picked up a few extra jobs along the way.

Now that it is only two weeks away, there is no way I can pack up all my stuff, pack up my cat, get a pet passport, get a plane ticket, find affordable housing, and find a job in the states!

Staying in Scotland means access to universal healthcare. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have other currently unexplained ailments that require constant doctors appts, testing, pain medication and physiotherapy. Combined, this would cost me potentially thousands per year in the states and I would need to pay for health insurance on top of that.

Staying in Scotland also means staying a part of the queer community. The queer community here has saved my life a thousand times. I struggle from severe depression and I have never met so many people that care as deeply as the queer community here does about each other.

When I told other queer folk that I needed to get a visa, they all started rallying and trying to find information, links, advisors, experts that could help me get all the documents I need. I'm still completing this process but I never would have gotten as far as I already have within the application process without this community.

I am currently in the process of developing films, documentaries, drag performances, workshops, curriculums, and event nights that are centred towards Bi-POC, queer, and disabled folks. I want to be able to see these projects through!
