URGENT! Help me, Naabah, stay at Navajo Preparatory School.

Donation protected
My name is Nop-Pah (Naabah) Cherish Kee, and I’m 15 years old. My clan is Kinya’anii nishli, born for Na’atoh Dine Tachinii. My maternal grandparents are To’bazhin’azhi, and my paternal grandparents are Hona’ghanii. I’m originally from the Eastern Navajo Reservation in Standing Rock, New Mexico, but I’ve lived in Durango, Colorado, with my mom since December 2021. I’m currently a 10th-grade 7-day Residential transfer student at Navajo Preparatory School in Farmington, NM, since January 2024.

I apologize for the urgency of my request, and I am in immediate need of $650 to cover my remaining tuition, registration, and residential fees, due before April 1st, 2025, before 3:00 p.m. Without this assistance, I will be unable to continue my education at Navajo Prep, which would deeply affect my academic progress and cultural development. With your help, we can prevent this from happening.
Since transferring in January 2024, I have benefited from Navajo Prep's 7-day Residential Program, which allows students from all over the Navajo Nation and beyond to participate fully in the school's living-learning community, regardless of their distance from home. The school's curriculum, rooted in Navajo philosophy, has deepened my cultural understanding and strengthened my identity as a Kinya’anii woman. I am also engaged in the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme, which emphasizes self-advocacy, critical thinking, and research. These opportunities are essential as I work towards my goal of becoming an Obstetrician-Gynecologist to serve Native and Indigenous women and children.
Navajo Prep offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses in Biology and Chemistry, providing a solid foundation for my scientific studies. Additionally, I am eager to explore summer medical research opportunities to gain hands-on experience in the medical field. Assistance with my $650 to cover my remaining tuition, registration, and residential fees, due before April 1st, 2025, before 3:00 p.m., will enable me to continue these activities, focus on my studies without interruption, and graduate in 2027.
I really like this school; it feels like where I truly belong. Thank you for considering my request. Your support is crucial to my continued growth and success at Navajo Preparatory School. With your help, I can overcome this financial hurdle and continue pursuing my educational and cultural goals.

Sincerely,

Nop-Pah C. Kee
