URGENT: MEDICAL/HEALTHCARE FUND
HELP JASPER RECOVER!
Jasper is 28 years old and from the Finger Lakes region of Upstate NY. Before they became ill in May of 2025, they were an educator helping neurodiverse students meet their educational goals. They also are a dedicated musician, DJ, and producer. However, for the last 10 months, their life has been on hold as they face a medical crisis.
Ever since a prolonged exposure to numerous environmental toxins at an unsafe apartment, Jasper has experienced a worsening and evolving chronic illness. The burden on their body has triggered chronic autoimmune flares, fatigue, inflammation, joint pain, memory impairment, anxiety, rapid weight loss, and nervous system damage. In late 2025, symptoms worsened and they were no longer able to work. Eating, sleeping, and everyday activities have grown increasingly difficult.
These have been compounded by their struggles in accessing treatment and safe housing, having traveled across state lines to seek the lifesaving care they need.
Despite being life threatening, environmental illness is often misdiagnosed and ignored by the medical establishment. Jasper requires specialists and treatments that are not currently covered by insurance, after months of energy and money exhausted with multiple month waits, gaslighting, and denied care.
There are no doctors in the Finger Lakes that can adequately address the complex multi-systemic case that Jasper has, meaning they have had to travel hours away to seek more care in the Hudson Valley, and connect with a special clinic at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. A specialist in the Hudson Valley is helping treat them, but the costs are accumulating as significant debt. Because of this, they are now seeking access to an intensive treatment center that is equipped to address their chronic illness. Proceeding with treatment is urgent given the late stage of their illness and we are asking for your strong support.
Jasper’s family has rallied to support them emotionally and financially, but additional funds are urgently needed. Please consider donating $50, $100, $500 or more today. Your support will help Jasper recover by:
1. Paying for care, both at an intensive treatment center and their ongoing recovery with other specialists.
2. Accessing safe, stable housing while seeking treatment
3. Providing living expenses and other resources to make their recovery possible
There are so many systems at play that make it nearly impossible for people like Jasper to heal. Your support not only makes it possible for Jasper to recover, but also overturns a horrifying precedent for people who have complex chronic illness--that robust support is possible, especially in moments of crisis. Thank you!
