Hello everyone! My name is Michael and I am writing this on behalf of my best friend. She is a trans woman of color who has dedicated her life and career to supporting and uplifting her communities. Due to the extreme rise in anti-transgender sentiment and legislation, she is seeking help to leave the country for her safety and to safely continue supporting her communities.

There is increasing reporting that the current administration is aiming to invalidate the passports of transgender Americans, and thus, she is planning on leaving the country sooner than originally anticipated (within the next 2-4 weeks). The decision to uproot your life due to hatred is heartbreaking and every day I see the painful effect that the current administration has on her and other members of the trans community. This is an incredibly difficult decision and one that she has not taken lightly. It truly breaks my heart to know that she and other members of the trans community have to even consider this just for trying to exist authentically in this world.

These funds will help her safely relocate and get established in a new country, while figuring out what her next steps will be. She is seeking assistance with housing, food, flights, and miscellaneous expenses to cover 3 months.
