- Hiya, I'm Yvonne. Single household earner and here's my situation. On November 22, my sodium and potassium levels were dangerously low. I had a physical late the day before. Thought I was ok and in good shape, but I wasn't. The blood work was sent to the lab late in the day. Apparently, the lab tried to call me, but I didn't recognize the incoming number and ignored the call. The next day, I went to work unaware of the situation, and my doctor called me from her personal phone, which is never good, telling me I need to go to the ER ASAP! I left work and went to the ER, and then hours later, I was in the hospital. I'm out of the hospital, but my company put me on LOA, and I've been up against a lot of red tape and hurry up and wait to get the doctor to release me from LOA. This ordeal has put me behind the 8 ball. My rent is now delinquent as are all the household bills, i.e., electric bill, cell phone bill (I have no landline, so my cell phone is my only manner to conduct business and whatnot.) I'm afraid the landlord will evict me and my dog. Not only was the primary reason I'm hosed during my LOA my car broke down and needed to be fixed. We were in a flood zone and someone almost died on our main road plus pending legal things dealing with the next door neighbor who has been intimidating the neighborhood, me included. I'm pretty much done man.
