Urgent Help for Widow Facing Financial Hardship
Donation protected
Most of you who know me are aware of how challenging this is for me. I'm the one who usually lends a helping hand or organizes fundraisers for others, not myself. My husband of 18.5 years passed away on February 6, 2025, after a long battle with various health issues. We thought I'd be taken care of in the event of his passing. He had a life insurance policy through General Motors, with me as his sole beneficiary. He believed I'd receive 100% of that money. However, it's turned out that I won't receive any of it. His ex-wife, who's been remarried and has no outstanding bills with her ex-husband, (my husband) will instead receive the benefits due to their divorce over 20 years ago. We (Rick and I) planned a funeral, expecting to use the life insurance money to cover the costs. I'd understood that she'd receive his retirement pension through General Motors, while I'd get a lump sum to pay off our bills and his final expenses. As it stands, she'll receive both his pension and life insurance, leaving me with nothing and no way to pay off the debts my husband and I incurred. If you're able to help in any way, I'd be eternally grateful. If you can't make a monetary donation, please consider sharing this story. Most importantly, please take a moment to pray for this situation. Thank you in advance for any support you can offer.
