This is Wendy. Wendy is my 11-year-old rescue who I've had since 2015, along with Lisa. They came as a bonded pair and have been my best friends ever since. Wendy loves car rides, sleeping on the couch, and chasing fruit flies in the kitchen (though she's not very good at catching them).

Wendy had to go to the emergency vet on Wednesday the 23rd because of a suspected neck injury, and was prescribed pain killers. On Thursday, July 24, Wendy went to the vet hospital at MSPCA Angell in Jamaica Plain, Boston, because she could no longer move her legs. She underwent an MRI, spinal tap, blood test, and has been given countless IV medications. She was finally diagnosed with a spinal cord injury. To fix this, she then had neurosurgery and has been cared for by specialists. 

Unfortunately, this process has been incredibly expensive and has taken a toll on me and my family. Every day she spends at the hospital is $3,000, and her surgery was an estimated $20,000. We thought we could take her home after the weekend, but with her still being unable to move her legs, we might not be able to see her until Thursday the 31st or even later. Lisa has been looking around the house for her sister and can't find her. My parents and I are so worried and don't know what to do except wait for news from the vets.

I'm asking for your help in covering part of the costs of Wendy's surgery and stay at the hospital. $25,000 would cover the surgery as well as almost 2 days at MSPCA Angell. I appreciate everyone who can donate, even if it's just a little bit. I'll upload pictures and updates about Wendy as I get them.
