VirginiaHello My name is Virginia Robinson I am 63 years old and my husband is 70yrs old. We are on Social Security and low fixed income as my husband still works. Heres our story

We reside in Erie, Pennsylvania

As of today December 5, 2024 my husband and I are currently without Electricity, Heating source and hot water at NO fault of our own. Please read a short summary of what has occurred to us as we want to provide awareness for people of our age 63 & 70 and be able to have enough to move to a habitable home.

October 8, 2024

We discovered Regal Communities https://regalcommunities.com/about/#our-mission. We provided everything they required along with the following amount of $3,825.00 which was first months rent and deposit. We reminded them about Gas/Electric needing to be completed on their end 3 times and they kept assuring us they are taking care of it.

Keys were given to us on November 1, 2024.

November 8, 2024

We moved in to later discover we could not turn the Electricity on through Penelec because Regal needed to do something. We communicated back and forth and Regal kept assuring us they would handle it and "they were at the mercy of penelec who play by their own rules" statement made by their employee. We were not told the reasoning of why we could not get Electric services turned on as it was on Regals end. We contacted Regal and they said they were getting an electrician out there.

November 12, 2024

We reached out to them again to remind them we still had No Gas and Electric they acted surprise they wrote the following: "You moved into the home without electric setup? Did anyone give you approval?

We have an electrician coming this week to fix things and move you in."}

We wrote back saying we were approved by Meir and owner of the company CEO Josh Schulman

November 21, 2024

Its cold and we had to come up with a heating solution and ask our neighbor if we can run a extension chord to have some lighting. Management found out and said we could not live like this. Next day Regal communities emailed us and asked us to Vacate as they could not allow us to live in these conditions.

We told them it's your fault we are in this situation, you sold us this home took our money and left us in the blank of why we are unable to get electricity turned on. We have been patient. We want our refund to find a habitable home. Regal agreed to give us our refund after we threatened them that we were taking this to the news.

November 27, 2024

They Overnight the full refund for us to be able to find a temporary place until they can get Electricity turned on.

December 5, 2024

We are currently in the Erie PA in middle of the Snow Storm, found out Regal has a hold on the refund check. We also just discovered from neighbors/prvs managers the Meter has to be brought up to code reason why power is not being turned on. We have reached out for advice and we are told it is Regal Communities obligation.

We are currently looking for another place to move that can provide Heat/Electric. Since Regal Communities has no reason to hold the check for our refund of $3,825 and still not provided Electric, Heating resources (their obligation)

We have maxed our funds been as we have been paying $15 pp X 2 = $30 a day at pilot gas station for a warm shower, plus the purchase of Kerosene oil to keep this mobile home warm, batteries to have some lighting, fuel for our small gas generator. We are only asking for the following in order to move out of this Mobile Home Park.

We appreciate any assistance that can be provided.
