My dog Vegas had surprise inflammation of his Gallbladder and severe GI Distress Monday morning. Because of the difficult nature of his illness (potential ulcers/sepsis) we were transferred from VEG to a specialty animal hospital where he will be monitored overnight (or multiple days) and receive constant antibiotics. The findings were an adverse reaction to a pain medication prescribed to us by a different vet less than a week ago. What we thought was helping potential early arthritis could have killed him.
The amount this whole thing would cost as well as the emergency bill was completely unexpected and went thousands beyond the remaining coverage on our pet insurance. If there’s anything anyone could do to help, Alex and I would be beyond grateful. I didn’t want to resort to this, but with several other unexpected bills and the price of the ER and Hospitalization, there isn’t much i can do.
