Urgent Help for Tracy's Family's Flood Recovery
Donation protected
My name is Tracy. On Thursday the 8th, a heavy rain came down in the town of Orrville that flooded many homes and streets. My mom, sister, and her dad lost their home due to the flooding causing the basement walls to collapse and fall in, crushing their furnace, hot water heater, and all their belongings from the basement which my sister actually lived in. She lost all her belongings, clothes, personal belongings, purse, financial things like wallet, debit cards, medicine, etc. They did have renters insurance, but were told that because it was due to flooding and a natural disaster, they will not do anything to help them. They are going to have to take it up with the Landlord.
This morning, while we were there, the rental property sent someone out to estimate the damages, but the house is unsafe because the main walls that hold the apartment up are now caved in and destroyed. The basement is filled with mud and water and most of their possessions are ruined, except for what was in the top part of the house, which we are unable to go because the house is not safe. They are going to have to find housing and be able to survive until the rental property people help them get situated. Both of the parents are disabled and my sister gave up her job a few years ago to take care of them both so any donations would be greatly appreciated and will be used to help them until they find shelter. Temporarily, they are staying at my house until we can figure something out.
