I am asking for your urgent help to support a kind and wonderful woman who is facing a life-threatening domestic violence crisis. Her name and personal details cannot be shared for her safety, but her story deserves to be heard. After many years of violence and severe injuries at the hands of her husband and multiple attempts to escape, she recently tried one last time to leave. Her husband learned of her plans and brutally attacked her, but she eventually managed to flee despite her injuries. She left with the clothes on her back and a modest amount of money that she had scraped together. She has been on the move and mostly off the grid, waiting for him to be arrested and charged. He was finally apprehended, but is out on bail while awaiting trial. She cannot risk having him (or his "friends") find her before she returns to testify against him at his trial. She has been traveling and living as cheaply as possible, but she is almost out of money. No court date has been set yet, and she has no way of knowing how long she will need to stay in hiding, but it will likely be several months. In the meantime, she cannot stay in one place too long without a risk of being found, and even if she stays with friends and family, she still needs to pay for travel expenses and basic necessities, and some warmer clothing as winter sets in.

Any amount you donate will go directly to keeping this courageous woman sheltered, fed, and hopefully safe until she testifies and her abuser is behind bars.

Any additional funds will be used for getting settled in a new town with housing and basic needs while she secures employment and finally begins her journey to healing.
