Hi, my name is Robert Frank. I am totally disabled with severe neck, mid-back, and low-back injuries. I have sciatica down both legs, both knees are bad, and I have had major surgery on my left knee. I also have an aortic aneurysm in the main chamber of my heart.
My wife is Eleanor Frank. She is totally disabled, she is totally blind, she is a type 2 diabetic and insulin-dependent. She also has devastating fibromyalgia down both legs and a bad hip. We also have our youngest son with us, Bobby Frank Jr., and our 16-year-old cat, Dusty.
We live on our two little SSDI checks; they are not much. Eleven days ago, we were made to leave a little 3-bedroom in-law suite we were living in so the owner could move their daughter in, leaving two totally disabled people, their son, and cat pretty much homeless with just our little SSDI checks. We rented two U-Haul trucks to move us, and our daughter helped us with a motel room with all the money she had, which we are very grateful for.
But tomorrow at 11 am, we will have to leave with nowhere to go but the street. We cannot even get into a shelter; there is a long waitlist. We were supposedly placed for a low-income apartment, but since they told us that, they have been giving us the runaround. We need more time to work on them and other options.
We are asking for help so we can stay in the hotel because my wife and I will never make it on the street, nor will our son and cat.
