Urgent Help for the Bryant Family Facing Eviction

Donation protected

My wife passed away 5 years ago, which made me a single widowed father of two. Between my employment and survivor benefits from Social Security, we've been able to always get by and pay our bills.

In March of this year, I made the decision to take a break from Lee Health because my daughter, Skylar, was struggling, and I felt I needed to be there to get her through the rest of the school year and summer before returning to work. Unfortunately, she tragically lost her fight with severe depression and passed away in June.

As we continue to mourn, we received two more unexpected blows: (1) They cut our Social Security benefits in half in August, which paid our rent, and (2) the City of Cape Coral purchased our neighborhood for $40 million, and all residents must vacate on or before January 31st, 2025, before they start demolition. Thanks to some local organizations, our rent was paid in September, but we are behind on October and November. Now, despite the fact we have to vacate in less than 60 days, the property manager filed for eviction shortly before Thanksgiving.

I've been continuing my job search, and we've started packing and cleaning out the apartment, but the last thing I want is for us to end up potentially homeless at Christmas time. So, if anyone can help a little, that would be greatly appreciated. God bless!
