Urgent Help For Stephen & His Family
On March 16th, my son (Jordan)’s father Stephen Orlando left for his COVID-19 vaccination appointment at Publix. 15 minutes afterwards, he calls me and says that “he felt funny.” When he got home, he immediately got in the bed, which was unusual behavior for him. The next morning when I woke him up, I was shocked to see that his eyes were popping out and his speech was slurred. I immediately called 911 and he was brought to Holy Cross Hospital. I was waiting on someone from there to contact me with any updates, and I found out that he was placed in the ICU and we would be unable to visit him for a few days.
Finally when I was able to go visit him, I was devastated to see that his hands and feet were completely black and shriveled up... 
the doctor explained that this happened due to a reaction to a certain medication they gave him because his blood pressure dropped so low. Somehow this caused the blood flow to his hands & feet to be cut off and this is the result. He was released from Holy Cross hospital on April 6th and placed into a rehabilitation center a few weeks. Since then he has returned home, but today, (May 9th) he was admitted back into Holy Cross Hospital to get both of his feet amputated. After this surgery is done, he will also have to get 4 fingers on his right hand amputated as well.
This is an extremely heartbreaking situation. Stephen is such a hard working man, he does everything in his power to provide a good life for me and my son. The mental and emotional toll this has put on our family is just so much to handle. Due to this situation Stephen is unable to work anymore, so i’m reaching out to anyone who can find it in their hearts to donate whatever they can spare to help us cover rent and utility bills for a little while.
