Hi, my name is Stephanie, and I’m raising funds to help my dad get back on his feet.
He needs help with food for this month, help to find a doctor so he can apply for disability, and he is also needing repairs to his car — which is currently the only home he has.
My dad is 59 years old and will be turning 60 this January. He’s a kind, humble man who has always worked hard, but the last few years have been devastating.
After COVID, he was approved for rent relief through the Texas Rent Relief program, but the payments were delayed. His apartment complex evicted him before the money came through, and the program refused to pay afterward — leaving him homeless, even though he was approved for help.
He’s been living in his car for the past year. Then, a wreck injured his back and knees, and without insurance, he hasn’t been able to see a doctor. Now, he can only stand and walk for a few hours, and it’s been nearly impossible to find steady work.
He had been helping a family friend at Paul’s Pizza Roma, but the restaurant closed last month, taking away the little income he had. He’s been surviving on food stamps, but with the government shutdown, he won’t receive them this month.
Right now, fixing his car, getting him food, and helping him see a doctor are our biggest priorities. His car is his only shelter, and repairing it would give him a safer place to sleep and a way to look for work again.
I wish I could do more, but my family and I live paycheck to paycheck, and my dad physically can’t work like he used to. Every dollar raised will go directly toward his food, finding him a doctor, and car repairs so he can start rebuilding his life.
If you can donate, share, or even just send prayers and encouragement, it would mean the world to us. My dad deserves a chance to live with dignity again.
Thank you so much for your kindness and support. ❤️
