On November 27th, devastating flooding swept through Ruki’s dog rescue property in Sri Lanka, destroying shelters, contaminating clean water sources, and putting dozens of rescued dogs in immediate danger.
Ruki has dedicated years of her life to rescuing vulnerable street dogs — animals who are abandoned, injured, elderly, sick, disabled, or otherwise left with nowhere else to go. She runs her rescue entirely from her home and personal resources, caring for each dog with compassion, medical attention, food, and safety.
But the recent flooding caused severe damage. Water rushed into the kennels, ruined food supplies, soaked bedding, and left the dogs terrified and exposed. Parts of the fencing and housing structures collapsed or were washed out. Several dogs required immediate veterinary care.
Ruki is now facing an urgent crisis and cannot handle the damage alone. She needs support to rebuild and keep the dogs safe.
