Urgent, help! We are homeless! Wheelchairs need repair.

10/8/25 APS moved us to a hotel in Jackson. We will be stuck here for several months. During this debacle, my wheelchair was seriously damaged. I now have to get this repaired so that it is safe for use. I was able to get another chair, but it needs batteries and a charger. I want to repair them both, because we don't have ready access to public transportation, and neither of us can drive. So these are now, our ONLY form of transportation for daily needs. One chair is not safe, and the others batteries only have a couple miles of range left on them, when it's rated for 20 miles. Tanya is unable to walk any distance, since she is on oxygen.

9/10/25 Hello, my name is Robert Rock, and my family and I are now homeless.
We are currently in a hotel, but have to leave by 11am. My account is already overdrawn.

I hate to even ask, with so many people I know wrapped up in their own horrors right now; but I have to, for Tanya, her daughter, and with any luck, the dogs. However, the latter is not likely at this point. The only place even Adult Protective Services can get us to, is a sketchy motel in Jackson. We need some days. I need time to gather my thoughts and try to navigate this.

Please help.

At the beginning of COVID, I got sick with an extremely rare side effect of diabetes. It took a year and a half to even get diagnosed because of COVID. I'm now considered terminal. Only 5 people, including myself, have ever been diagnosed with it, and I am currently the only human known to have it at this time. Two people completely recovered in 6 months. Two people died at the 5-year mark, and then there's me. I was supposed to have died about 6 months ago, and things are getting harder every day. I can barely walk and am in a wheelchair most of the time, or sitting on my bed...

Though my mother passed and left me some money, I was taken advantage of by supposed friends. That money is gone, as are they. I also worked with the mortgage company on the house and paid a lump sum of over $10,000 to catch up from the COVID relief.

After struggling for a few years, we ended up losing the house. A contributing factor was when T-Mobile broke a contract with me and took money out of my bank they weren't supposed to. I had already committed the money to the mortgage company and had called to make arrangements with T-Mobile. They not only took the original payment out but also the money for the payment agreement, which sent me into overdraft and resulted in the loss of my phone. I had no way to reliably communicate with them, and we were foreclosed on.

The new owner has given us a few extra months, but that time is quickly coming to an end. I tried to contact the new owner to see if there were any options for us to stay, but no phone numbers and no answer on my letter to them. Besides, we're no longer capable of taking care of the house and yard.

My partner, Tanya, is also sick now and stuck at home on oxygen for the rest of her life. She has so far been unable to get disability or SSI. Her oldest daughter is autistic, and her youngest is going off to college on scholarships and grants in the fall. So primarily the three of us, and our 2 service dogs.

UPDATE!!!!
We have to be out of this house no later than Sept 7, 2025. This is a hard date, as we have a "Conditional Dismissal" for the eviction, as long as we are out no later than end of business on that day. Even though we don't have a place set yet, we do need the funds to actually move and not lose everything we've worked so hard to get. We're trying to get an apartment over near Warren, as it's the best option so far, though still a long-shot. I'm already selling items that are worth anything, but that is going far too slowly.
We've gotten most things out, but still have another load. Then we have to figure out how to get it across the state.

So, here we are, at a crossroads, so to speak. Nowhere to go, even though we have no choice but to leave. So, unless we can find a place very soon, we are going to be homeless. The money I'm asking for is for moving and deposits for any place that will have us.

I want to thank everyone in advance, whether you can help directly or by passing this on. I would also appreciate any help in finding a new home. It probably won't be for me for very long, but I have to make sure my family and dogs are safe. I may not even make it through the move. The last week has been debilitating.
