Rio needs your help. For those of you who don't know, Rio was diagnosed with stage IV kidney cancer in 2022. He has fought hard and well, doing all he can to recover. After undergoing medical treatments and having his kidney removed along with the largest tumor, the cancer is back and growing rapidly near vital organs including his heart, lungs & liver.
Rio's initial treatments were effective, however the cancer has mutated and the treatment plan in place is no longer working. The location of the tumors are not safe to operate on. Rio's doctor is giving him a few months to a year to live if the cancer continues to grow as it is.
We have looked into other options for Rio's case and as a final effort to treat Rio we have found a center called Oasis of Hope. This clinic has successfully treated stage four cancer patients.
The funds we are seeking are to get him to the Oasis of Hope ASAP, (not covered by insurance). Rio also has medical insurance premiums and co-pays to keep up with and needs help with his basic living expenses so he can rest, eat well and not stress.
Rio has been supported by family members and when he has been well enough to work he has done so without complaining. He has pushed himself more than he should to do all that he can in spite of his illness. Rio has always been a big hearted, selfless giver. To know him is to love him back & he deserves the best shot at beating cancer.
If you know Rio, he is always encouraging & serving others. Rio is always looking for ways to help his family, friends & community. It is hard for Rio to ask for the help he needs, but we have come to a place where funds are slim and Rio is facing the end of his life. Without a miracle & alternative treatment options the cancer will overtake his body.
Thank you all for reading this & regardless of whether you are able to help with ANY size donation or not, we welcome your prayers.
As Rio's sister, this is incredibly heartbreaking. My brother has been a rock for me throughout my life and he has been the best Uncle to my daughter Mila. He makes it a priority to be present and he shows up for people with a smile, some good jokes and ready to help. I don't know another man with a heart as big. Rio is ALWAYS one to be generous with his time, take action and is quick to call a stranger a friend.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU in advance for your help.
Sincerely,
Rachael Domingo
