Urgent Help for Renee and Val
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,
My name is Joelle Valenzuela, and I’m reaching out for support for two incredibly important people in my life—my step-mom, Renee Van Tiem, and my mom, Val Valenzuela.
Over the past year, Renee has been the primary caregiver for my mom, who suffered a severe stroke. Many of you know Val as someone who always brought people together, loved hosting gatherings, and valued her friendships. Since her stroke, she has required full-time care, and Renee has taken on that responsibility while also continuing to work as a chiropractor.
Unfortunately, Renee is now facing serious health challenges of her own. She has been battling Stage IV Breast Cancer, and recent scans show a mass in the base of her neck giving her the diagnosis of Pancoast Syndrome which causes severe pain in her left arm, significantly affecting her strength and mobility, making it difficult for her to help my mom with her daily needs and for her to work.
With her income impacted and my mom still needing round-the-clock care, we are asking for help to ease some of the financial burden so that Renee can focus on getting the treatment she needs.
How Your Support Will Help
Our goal is to raise funds to hire a professional caregiver for Val so that Renee can take time off to focus on her health and recovery. Your support will go directly toward:
Caregiving for Val
Time off for Renee
Household support
Medical and daily expenses
Ways You Can Contribute
Here’s how different donation amounts can help:
$50 – Covers a few hours of caregiving
$120 – Covers half a day of professional care
$240 – Covers a full day of caregiving
$480 – Provides Renee with a weekend break
$1,200 – Covers a full week of professional care
Any amount – Helps with medical costs, supplies, and household expenses
Why This Matters
Renee has taken on so much responsibility in caring for my mom while managing her own health challenges. With your support, we can ensure that Val gets the care she needs while giving Renee the opportunity to focus on her own health and treatment.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this campaign would be just as valuable in helping us reach others who may want to contribute.
Thank you for your kindness and support—we truly appreciate any help you can give.
With gratitude,
Joelle Valenzuela
