Hi, my name is Rebecca. I’m a mother of four, with two children still living at home. I’ve worked hard to rebuild our life after many years of challenges, including chronic illness, disability, homelessness, and the devastating loss of my son in 2018. I’ve been steadily working and providing for my family, until recent medical crisis’ changed everything.
In the past few months, I’ve had:
• A blood clot surgically removed
• A stent placed in my right ureter after it was strangled by deep endometriosis
• That stent removed, with the condition returning
• A pending surgery to remove the endometriosis and prevent kidney damage. (These surgeries are UNAVOIDABLE! The stricture WILL NOT heal on it's own, and if gone untreated will lead to RENAL FAILURE)
If this surgery isn’t fully successful, I’ll need to travel for a second, more specialized surgery. I live with several other chronic illnesses, including rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and Trigeminal Neuralgia, that make recovery and daily life much harder. Right now, I’m bedridden most days and unable to work.
Because of this, we are urgently in need of help. We are currently short:
• $100 for rent (to avoid eviction)
• $80 for phone service (currently shut off)
• $65 for internet (needed for school and healthcare access)
• $180 for our gas bill (at risk of shutoff)
We are not asking for long-term support—just enough to help us through the next 2–3 months while I undergo surgery and recovery (estimated at 6–8 weeks). After that, I hope to return to part-time work or apply for full disability if needed.
We also have three beloved cats (one is an emotional support animal), two guppies, and a small frog. Our pets are a big part of what helps us stay grounded during hard times.
My family and friends have helped as much as they can, but they are now facing serious health issues of their own. I’ve reached out to local aid programs and used every available resource.
If you are able to help us, whether through a donation or sharing this fundraiser, we are deeply grateful for your support.
With love and hope,
Rebecca
