Help My Parents Recover After a Devastating Car Accident
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
I’m reaching out during one of the most heartbreaking moments our family has ever faced. A few days ago, my parents were involved in a serious car accident that has left them with life-altering injuries.
The accident happened when a minor took her parents' car without permission and failed to yield while turning. She crashed into my parents, who were driving straight through a green light. The collision was devastating and has completely changed our lives.
My father suffered eight fractures in his ankle injuries so severe that he’ll need multiple surgeries and an extremely long recovery process. Doctors have told us it could take over a year before he can walk again or return to work.
My mother also sustained serious injuries, including internal bleeding and several broken toes that cause her terrible pain. She now has to use a walker just to get around the house. The physical pain, emotional trauma, and sudden loss of independence have been incredibly hard on both of them.
My brother and I are doing everything we can to take care of them driving them to medical appointments, cooking meals, managing medications, and making sure they have everything they need each day. On top of that, I’m currently 8 months pregnant and caring for my one year old baby, which has made this time especially overwhelming for us as a family.
We’ve always been strong, close, and hard-working but right now, we truly need help. That’s why I’ve created this fundraiser to help cover the cost of surgeries, medical care, physical therapy, lost income, medical transportation, and daily essentials as our parents recover.
If you’re able to donate, please know that every contribution no matter how small will bring real relief and hope to our family. And if you can’t give financially, we’d be so grateful if you could share this fundraiser with others.
Thank you for your compassion, your prayers, and your support during this incredibly painful and uncertain time.
With all our love and gratitude,
Yariana and Joshua Rivera
