PLEASE HELP OTIS!! Hello, my name is Amber and I am asking for help to save my daughter’s dog Otis hip. The day after Christmas, my three girls and I were coming home that night and Remi and Otis (brothers) were horsing around as I was driving up our driveway, unfortunately, I only saw Remi jumping around and didn’t realize Otis was there and so close, and I hit him, I have never seen my daughter scream/cry so hard. She ran down our entire long driveway, screaming and crying for Maddy my middle daughter (which they NEVER get along) because she’s our animal whisperer, Maddy came running to Otis. We took him to the emergency room, and thankfully, it was only a dislocated hip, it wasn’t shattered, nor did the pelvis get crushed. I was so worried it would be! We had a procedure done at the emergency room where they put him to sleep and tried to put the hip back into place, the vet tried multiple times and each time it popped back out. So unfortunately, after spending all night into the next day at ER, it was not good news. We paid $1000 for this procedure Gracie, and both her sisters put in their Christmas money, without even being asked and the procedure didn’t work. They told me I needed to go see our Vet to help us find one that did surgeries. We brought him to the vet and they told us he needs FMO surgery where they will cut the femur bone and the rest of the bone will connect to the socket overtime with muscle. The vet told us it would cost $2000 to fix (that is because they are donating $200 towards the $2000 from their benevolence fund, which was amazing!) which needs to be done within a week. But when they told me how much, all I could do is cry. Our Vet offered up the suggestion of a GoFundMe! I’ve hit my daughter‘s best friend and now I can’t fix it, and I have completely broken her heart, I don’t ever get to put back “savings” because it takes everything to pay the bills and buy the groceries. I am a single mother of three children with a craft business and Salon, whom never gets the child support I am supposed to. I have dedicated my life to my children so having to let one down is my biggest fear. I i’m going to do everything I can and work all the extra hours I can, but I won’t be able to come up with enough money on my own. We would truly appreciate if anyone is willing to help us with this unfortunate event. Thank you so much!
