Urgent Help For My Beloved Senior Dog

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure where to start -

A few weeks ago my beautiful senior boy (11yrs old) injured his left hind leg/hip getting down from the couch. I spoke to his Vet and we were thinking it was a potential sprain, so we have been treating it as such at home trying to see if it'll improve. It seemed like it was starting to, but, unfortunately, as of late last night, he went to jump up on my bed and ended up hurting himself much worse, to the point where he fell backwards, screamed out in pain for minutes, and drenched the floor (and myself) in urine due to the amount of pain he was in. He can no longer put any weight on his left hind leg or seem to even stand up on his own. I ended up moving my mattress to the floor to lay down with him and cuddle, and he hasn't been able to move since (nor have I, to be honest). This is all happening during an already tough time in my life (when it rains it pours), so I am asking family, friends and the public for help while we figure out what needs to be done for my baby boy. We are waiting to either go into his Vet (on a list), or figure out if a home call would be best as getting him in and out of a vehicle seems nearly impossible given his current state.

Anyone who knows me, knows that this beautiful soul of a dog is my entire heart and love of my life. I am absolutely devastated and my heart is breaking watching him go through this. He has been my best friend for the last 5 years and we have already been through so much together since his adoption. I made him a promise the day I brought him home, when the shelter wanted to already euthanize him due to his health, that we would get through everything together. I am hoping and praying that we still can.
