Urgent Help for Monique's Family After Accident
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Monique. I’m a single mama to an amazing six-year-old boy living in Arizona. I am desperately seeking financial support to avoid being evicted after being in a car accident.
At the beginning of November, I was involved in a car accident while heading to work, which resulted in my car being totaled. Following the accident, I spent time in the hospital and out trying to recover, causing me to be out of work for several weeks.
I hold multiple jobs, but due to my injuries and the overall situation, I have been unable to pay my full rent amount. I have communicated with my landlord and the eviction attorney. Unfortunately they cannot accept partial payments. They are moving forward with the eviction process, and I now have a court date next week right before Thanksgiving.
This is an incredibly fearful situation for my son and me. I lack substantial support or family to turn to for help, and the thought of eviction is daunting. I work hard and believe in doing the right thing, no matter the challenges I face. Life has thrown a lot at me, but I have always pushed through and set an example for my son.
Due to my circumstances, I have exhausted any and all my savings, credit cards, loans are maxed out. My disability limits the types of jobs I can do,(and I still do try. I end up hurting myself more, getting let go or I have to quit.)
I have not been able to fully work the past few weeks. I am not supposed to be doing anything but trying to recover, following up with all my doctors appointments, therapies and surgeries.
For those who don't know me personally, I am the sole provider for my family. I have experienced significant loss in my life, including the deaths of both my parents at a young age and losing my son's father before he was born. I got out of an abusive relationship and removed myself and my son from our home two years ago. Started our lives over on a good note.
The accident was not my fault, and I am navigating the claims process through the other person's insurance. This process has been slow and agonizing. Their insurance has accepted full liability and body damage, but it takes time for a settlement to be reached. I do have an attorney.
Only recently was I able to obtain a rental car. It is only approved by the insurance for one week, and I had to pay all fees and insurance out-of-pocket.
Many personal items in my car were ruined or damaged, including work-related items, my son's belongings, a car seat, and my phone. I carry a lot of these items back and forth because I have two other jobs.
Thank goodness I was the only person involved in the accident, and I feel extremely fortunate to be here and not facing more severe injuries.
I am trying to stay strong, but the stress and exhaustion are overwhelming. I am experiencing a lot of physical pain, and to be honest, I don't know how much more my body can take. I am supposed to rest and allow my body to recover, but there is so much to handle, and it often, no it does ALL fall on me.
I am asking for assistance, even though doing so is difficult for me. I have tried to apply for any available resources in Arizona, but with the holidays approaching—especially Christmas—many organizations have exhausted their funding or closed their services.
Because of the financial strain from this accident, I fear that without help, I will not be able to return to work and may lose our home. My hope is to gather enough funds to support us until the end of December. I eagerly look forward to recovering and getting through this.
Thank you for any generosity you are able to contribute and May your holidays be filled with joy, Merry Christmas!
Any additional funds that I may receive that is over what our goal is, will go directly to Christmas for my son.
