My name is Meeshell Block and I am in dire need of help after a tragic accident involving my fiance left me homeless, carless and without income.

My fiance, Casey Fagan, was in a single vehicle rollover car crash around midnight 10/7/25 on HWY 74 near Palm Desert. Witnesses observed him with a visible head injury and injury to his feet. For unknown reasons, he left the scene of the accident and was last seen going down a trail off the side of the road into treacherous terrain. He has not been seen since. Riverside County Sheriff Office deployed search parties (although not until 3 days later - long story) which included helicopters, a ground SAR search crew with cadaver dogs and a drone search. They could not find any sign of Casey and ended all their search efforts as of 10/14/25. Casey's family has been on their own since then, paying privately to continue the search for Casey. Casey was my sole provider and caregiver. I have no income on my own and have been unable to work since being diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) 2 years ago. GBS is a rare neurological disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the peripheral nervous system and, in my case, it has caused long term disabilities including continued weakness, numbness and pain. I applied for disability benefits but that process has been long and is still pending approval. Casey's job was our only source of income and he was also my caregiver. We were living in a temporary rental near Palm Desert at the time of his crash that was only paid for until 10/22/25. As of that date, I have been without a home and without a vehicle, as the car he crashed that night was our only means of transportation. I do not know anyone in this area as we were only here temporarily. The friends and family I do have tried to help as best they can, but they no longer have the funds to assist me any further. I have been on the phone constantly with emergency shelters, Social Services, outreach programs and every agency you can think of. However, I cannot find anyone willing to take me in with my disability or I have been put on a long wait list for services.

I am completely devastated, not only by the loss of my fiance, but the loss of a home and security. I am desperately in need of financial help to assist with lodging until I can find a shelter or permanent housing. I am also in need of financial assistance to obtain a vehicle and to pay for the storage units that contain all of our belongings until I can get access to them. Unfortunately, one of the main storage units was in his name only and Casey had the keys to the storage unit on him the night of the crash. I have not been able to get access to our most important belongings that I could possibly sell to help my situation.

I would appreciate any help anyone can provide to me during this incredibly difficult time. If you are not able to donate financially, I would forever be grateful if you could help share my story.
