HURRICANE MELISSA hit several islands in the Caribbean, causing severe devastation to already impoverished areas. Flooding killed cattle and domestic animals alike and also wiped away agriculture. This is has resulted in severe food insecurity. Aside from that, the island is dealing with a pandemic of mosquito borne diseases (dengue and chikungunya fevers), made worse now by all of the standing water left behind by the hurricane.

I have sent several thousand dollars worth of emergency food to the town of Maceo and have collected clothes and other items which I will send in the next weeks. People have lost everything, including their mattresses, and every bit of help will go towards improving their condition. Maceo is located here: 20.751407036389693, -76.49924552942356.

ALL money raised by this campaign will be used EXCLUSIVELY for buying and sending household goods, medicines and food to the affected towns people. It will go to them directly, with no intermediaries, making sure that it has the biggest impact on the most people possible.
