This go fund me is to benefit Lena and Justin Maditz. At what should have been a routine appointment they received news no expecting parent wants to hear. Lena was diagnosed with gestational hypertension and baby Theo was diagnosed as having intrauterine growth restriction with absent diastolic flow in the cord. Essentially, his umbilical cord is failing him and his time left to grow is uncertain. Lena was promptly admitted to the hospital for close monitoring. While Lena’s condition can be managed, things are more critical for baby Maditz whose due date isn’t until early September. This has left Lena without work and in the hospital for an indefinite amount of time. She will continue to be closely monitored in the hospital until they have to do an emergency c-section which could happen as early as this week if the babies condition worsens. Lena will be 26 weeks pregnant Thursday and we would like to keep Theo in the oven as long as possible the grim reality is that he will have to be born extremely premature. All funds raised will go directly to supporting this family in any way that they need as they navigate their way through these hard times. Lena is a full time nurse and her husband is weeks away from graduating as a nurse. The loss of income has left them with uncertainty of how they will pay their bills.
