FAMILY IN URGENT NEED!

Our family has been friends with Sarah Karakoudas and her sons, Jude and Miles, for years. In fact, Owen and Jude met in Kindergarten and have been best buds since. Sarah is a single mom raising two amazing boys. She is one of the strongest, sweetest, and kindest women I've ever known. Miles, age 13, is a very smart and talented student with a fun personality. Jude, age 11, is a sensitive, adventurous, and kind kid!

Over the last couple of years, they have endured incredible personal challenges but managed to rise above them thanks to their big hearts and positive outlook on life. It was as if nothing could take them down... but then Hurricane Helene and Milton hit and turned their lives upside down.

Sarah fled and sought refuge on high ground for her boys (plus two dogs, cats, bunny, and chickens) while Helene flooded their home with 4 feet of water and Milton ravaged their house with wind. They have their lives and that is about it.

Their home is totally uninhabitable.

Their possessions are minimal.

They have no place to live and are currently staying in an office converted to a room at her work, temporarily.

They are sleeping on air mattresses and using a bookcase as a makeshift dresser for the few clothes they have.

I know all too well the devastation as I have also lost my home, but Sarah and the boys' situation is a higher level of need than I have yet seen in our community.

Despite this grave situation, Sarah is maintaining her grit and determination to create the best life she can for Jude and Miles along with their two dogs, Apollo and Artemis.

They urgently need help to get more suitable housing, food, and new clothes.

If you can, please help them….I ask with all my heart.
