Help Me Stay Housed While Recovering From a Life-Threatening Gas Exposure & Ongoing Hardship
GoFundMe Campaign Description
Last year, a methane gas leak was discovered in my apartment. Doctors later confirmed that long-term exposure had caused methane to enter my bloodstream—and that if it hadn’t been found when it was, I could have lost my life. Since then, I’ve been under ongoing medical care and am still working toward full recovery.
As I’ve been trying to heal, a series of devastating events have followed. My home was broken into and critical personal and business documents were stolen. This has resulted in severe identity theft, including tax fraud and fraudulent PPP loans, all of which have been reported to authorities. While some stolen funds may eventually be recovered, these processes take time—time I don’t have right now.
Because of these circumstances, I’m experiencing extreme financial hardship and am struggling simply to keep a roof over my head for myself and my two cats so we can remain safe.
Those close to me know that I have also endured years of domestic violence and stalking, which have intensified since my mother passed away. The situation has been traumatic and ongoing. Tragically, it even resulted in my mother’s cat being poisoned and having to be put down after immense suffering.
To make matters worse, several clients owe me thousands of dollars for styling services I’ve already completed and have not been paid, leaving me without the income I was counting on. Despite explaining everything to my apartment management, I have now been given a 3-Day Notice to Pay or Quit.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am a hard worker and that asking for help does not come easily to me. I have always been the person who shows up for others. This is the first time in my life I’ve been in this position, and it’s incredibly difficult and humbling to ask.
I do have opportunities in place that should cover my basic needs in the coming months—but unfortunately, that doesn’t help me today. Right now, I urgently need help to stay housed and stable while I continue to recover and rebuild.
Any support—no matter how small—would mean the world to me. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would also be deeply appreciated. You can donate anonymously if you like.
Thank you so much. Forever grateful.
