Hello! My name is Joanna. My son, Xavier, and our cats currently live in an rv trailer that is getting to be in rough shape. Its currently over 20 years old and starting to show its age and needs for repair in areas. I have also found us in a situation where the rv park management wants us to move out. I currently can not afford to get my rv to be travel ready on my own without having to ask for help, financially. The trailer has been sitting stationary for the past 6 years and I am not sure how long prior to that from the previous owners of it.
I am at a crunch point where I need to ask for assistance, financially (which is extremely hard for me to ask for), to either get the trailer all new tires, the slide-outs fixed, roof re-sealed, and some dryrot issues fixed.....or...... to help my son, our cats, and I move out of the rv and into an apartment close by. The cheapest 2 bedroom apartment I found, within the same town where we currently live in, is going to cost about $2050 per month plus roughly up to $100 for electricity. I am just needing financial assistance with getting us moved in and the cost of the first 3 months, if possible. Im also looking at the option of a 1 bedroom apartment, which isn't too much cheaper unfortunately.
I am currently working one full-time job about 40-45 minutes away and I am aiming to start a part-time job very soon closer to home. So I will have 2 jobs at once for a bit, until I can catch up on bills.
I am beyond stressed out and completely overwhelmed. I was really hoping to not have to move until my son finished high school for this year. He is currently in his Senior year. We just need some living stability until after he graduates in June of 2026.
I'm just trying my hardest to not have us become homeless.
I am on a waiting list for financial assistance with the VA, but its looking like it will be a bit longer before I will be able to receive anything because of current governmental issues. I know money is getting tight for a lot of people, but if anyone could spare any amount, my son and I will be forever grateful. If I need to pay you back any amount, we can discuss that privately and work something out.
Thank you all.
