We are humbly asking for a moment of your time and sincerely thank you for listening to our story.
On August 24th, 2025, my mother, Danna Wilson, lost her battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Behind her, she leaves two young granddaughters, three children, and her sick husband, James. Her lung cancer swiftly spread. Taking her from us only four weeks after her diagnosis, leaving us to scramble to pick up the pieces after her sudden passing.
James Humphries , my father, is an end-stage kidney failure patient who relies on dialysis to keep him alive until the day we receive the news of a possible kidney donor. He uses at-home dialysis four times a week to keep himself healthy. Upon my mother's passing, it was discovered that in her poor health in the months before her diagnosis, she had failed to balance, or inform us, of our billing situation—car insurance, health insurance, and many more. Informing us that all was taken care of. Her mind was not where it was supposed to be, and in her sick state, she truly believed all was taken care of. All that is happening now is not of any fault of her own.
Today I am here to ask for help concerning our battle with health insurance and supplies. Upon speaking to our provider, we were informed that in order to continue our coverage of dad's medical expenses, we would need to pay $1400 up front to continue coverage and his medical aid. Without it, James, my father, will not survive.
His oldest son lives across the country, his oldest daughter works at a local restaurant, and I am a caretaker for him and formerly Danna Wilson. We are raising two young girls, ages 7, and on top of all of our medical bills, we are at a loss. Money is tight, and we are in need of mercy.
I ask not for pity but for time to share or donate what little you can. Every little bit helps—Dad cannot go without his life-saving treatments.
Any little bit helps, and if you cannot donate please consider spreading this around. For additional information please feel free to message me.
