Urgent Help for Housing, Health, and Financial Crisis

Hi everyone-

I'll start by saying vulnerability isn't my strong suite. However, I find myself in a place where I could really use help. I'm going through housing, job, and health hardships right now all at the same time. I was laid off from my job over a year ago where I have worked as a recruiter for over 13 years helping companies grow their businesses and assisting job seekers in advancing their careers. Unfortunately, my industry was hit hard during global layoffs and has continued into 2024. At one point in 2023 it was estimated that around 100,000 of my peers were all still looking for work. The job market is brutal and applications are quickly overwhelmed. Despite my best efforts of applying to over 2500 roles and expanding my search beyond my traditional field, level, and location I have been unable to secure employment.

Since being laid off I have been doing gig work such as working at concerts and events while primarily doing Instacart. I have put close to 30k miles on my car just doing gig driving. This may provide some temporary relief; however, it is not sustainable. I have been unable to make ends meet and have now lost my home.

To add to this at the beginning of the year I was diagnosed with neuropathy which makes it very hard to use your hands and feet. Then just a few short months later I was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial adenocarcinoma "cancer" and will have to undergo a very invasive surgery as soon as I have a stable place to live.

I literally have no place to go and cannot continue to live in motels. I need financial assistance so that I may find a home in order to tend to health issues and get back on my feet. Again, I don’t know how to be completely vulnerable, but this is it.
