Urgent Help for Homeless Single Father and Autistic Son

Currently, my five-year-old autistic son and I are experiencing homelessness and are urgently searching for shelter. Since June, I’ve stumbled into a financial crisis that led to this situation. Specifically, our living and transportation expenses exceeded our income. His mother abandoned him back in May, leaving me with a major financial setback and legal complications due to her refusal to provide vital information for his wellbeing, specifically his social security number.

Residing in the state of Georgia, to claim legal paternity in the eyes of the court, a father (now a single father at that), must file a petition for legitimacy and therefore custody of the child(ren). Without those 7 vital numbers, I was forced to pay out of pocket for medical expenses and was unable to even finish an application for benefits on behalf of my autistic son. These setbacks led to me missing work and gradually accumulating unpaid bills and rent, which resulted in us being evicted from our residence.

Despite these challenges, I find strength in my faith. Every day, through every situation and stumble, I strive to be the best father I can be.
