UPDATE January 10, 2026 - Great news received today: Tim's disability claim has been approved! He should be receiving his letter with the amounts and specifics within 10-15 days. Heather says, "The feeling of relief is unreal! I will never be able to thank you all for every ounce of your support and encouragement!" Blessings to everyone who read their story and updates, who prayed and encouraged, who donated and thought good thoughts for their family! Thank you so very much!

UPDATE August 8, 2025 - Good news: the landlord Heather and Tim met with yesterday are willing to work with them to get them into a specific home, complete with very kindly discounting the rest of this month! Heather writes, "We’re so grateful for all of the love, support, and encouragement — it’s made such a difference during this difficult season, and we’re holding onto hope every step of the way. ❤️
Tim recently spoke with Social Security, and although the process is still ongoing, they are actively gathering the final pieces of information for his disability case. Our attorney is staying on top of everything, and while it’s taking time, we’re staying optimistic that progress is being made behind the scenes.
In the meantime, Tim has been placed on a heart monitor through September 2nd so his doctors can keep a closer eye on the lingering symptoms he’s been experiencing. We’re hopeful that this monitoring will give us some long-overdue answers and help guide his next steps toward healing and recovery.
We’re taking things one day at a time and focusing on the small wins — and your continued support is a big part of that. Every share, donation, and kind message reminds us that we’re not alone in this, and that’s something we’ll never take for granted.
Thank you again for being in our corner. We truly believe better days are ahead. "

UPDATE August 6, 2025 - Heather reports that they have a lead on another place to possibly rent in Massillon. After many other disappointments, Tim was able to speak to this landlord that they got referred to yesterday and he wants to meet them at the house Thursday at noon!! Please pray this works out! Heather writes, "PLEASE express my gratitude for everyone's support. I can't even begin to describe how incredibly grateful we are that God has been able to work through other people to provide what we've needed to get by. ♥️ "
Disability is still being worked through for the approval of financial help for Tim. Thank you all, and please keep sharing this fundraiser as they are still in the motel until a permanent place is secured.

June 3: THANK YOU for sharing and donating to this worthy cause! Heather, Tim, and family were able to secure a safe place to stay at a hotel after losing their home. If not for all of you who contributed, prayed, and got the word out, they would have had no place to go. GOOD NEWS: Heather says, "Tim was finally able to have his phone interview with social security/disability yesterday actually and they did say they would be able to expedite his claim since his disability has affected our income in such an impactful way....it will still take about 30 days but that's actually way faster than a normal claim which normally takes 5 to 6 months...we have used donations on the hotel and gas to get back and forth so I'm really grateful. I've been looking for a place to rent and have still been looking for another part time job. I've reached out to some churches and one has just today paid for another week at the hotel." PLEASE keep sharing their story and asking others to do the same. We are at almost 25% of our goal and we know that YOUR support and care have been vital to the family's physical, mental and spiritual well-being!!!

UPDATE: we've reached over $2000.00 toward the goal thus far, thanks to all who donated! Please keep sharing. Every share and contribution helps the family!

On Christmas Eve 2024, my friend Heather's family was thrown into a nightmare. Her fiancé Tim had a cardiac emergency and underwent an emergency triple bypass. He also had a stroke. Tim has made progress in his recovery but is unable to work, and Disability has not yet come through for an income. Ironically, Heather had recently quit her job in order to start a new non-profit to address health and economic disparities in her local community, but it is in its infancy and is not able to pay her a wage. They had depended on Tim's income for their family, which also includes a college-age daughter, a high-school-age daughter, and a 6-year-old daughter.

They had previously planned to purchase the home they have rented for five years from their landlord, who desires to get out of the rental business. But now they don't qualify for any loans. Heather now works a retail job, but due to the medical bills and loss of Tim's income, they fell behind on their rent, and the landlord filed an eviction to be served on May 13, 2025.

This emergency fundraiser is to help the family stay in their home or move to another rental and avoid becoming homeless. Tim has pushed through physical pain, rehab, and emotional and financial uncertainty, but fear about this situation has subjected him, Heather, and the girls to extreme stress. The worries, the responsibilities, the constant pressure—it’s hard to keep up. There have been days when it feels like the weight of everything is just too much.

It's my hope that this fundraiser can keep Tim and Heather's family together in their home and give them some much-needed support during this time of crisis until the Disability income is approved. Thank you so much.
