On Wednesday December 10th, our dog Guera, woke up throwing up and bleeding from her butt. She went from being her hyper and energetic self to being lethargic and barely responsive. We took her into the emergency vet hospital and turned out she was severely dehydrated and had bled out a lot. She immediately needed to be stabilized by given her IV fluids, heat, and antibiotics. We paid over 2k to get blood work, X-rays, and be given medications for something she ate and was stuck in her intestines. We thought it was all over with when the meds given helped flush out what was stuck and all that was needed was for her to have a bowel movement. With lots of love and attention, we cared for her giving her 5 different medications twice a day and finally saw her have a bowel movement on Saturday morning. Just when we all were relieved and thought the worst was over, on Sunday morning she woke up low energy again, not wanting to eat, throwing up, and feeling really hot. We took her in to an emergency hospital again and unfortunately she was severely dehydrated and had a fever of 103.8. With additional ultrasounds it seems to be that Guera now has Pyometra symptoms and will most likely need surgery to save her life. The reasons on why we are asking for any help is because we just had a baby boy 12 days ago. Having a newborn, toddler, only one working parent, a 2nd dog, and having already spent over 2k has been really difficult on our family. We ask for any help that anyone can give and appreciate any amount given. Please help us save our Guerita. She’s only 4 years old and part of our family.
