Urgent Help for Grover's Medical Expenses
Donation protected
Hey everyone. My name is Marissa and I’m having a terrible problem. Yesterday morning my cat Grover, who means everything to me, was rushed to the emergency vet. He had been hiding the night before and as soon as I woke up, I found him lying in the bathroom — crying, lethargic and soaked in urine. I immediately took him to Blue Pearl in Southfield, Michigan, where the doctor was able to perform a blood transfusion and stabilize him as we run more tests and search for a diagnosis.
I am a relatively private person and I do not post much on social media, but my cats are the most important part of my life, so I am humbling myself in turning to you to ask for help. I am a special education teacher and I work very hard to provide a wonderful life for myself and my cats, but I was not at all prepared to take an unexpected financial hit of this magnitude. I am now in a very tight spot. So far, in just one day, I have incurred $3500 in veterinary fees. This number will be increasing as more blood tests are performed to find the root cause of Grover’s anemia and further check ups will be needed to ensure his full recovery.
If you can help even just a little, I really appreciate it. And if not, please send your love and positive energy to Grover, who is the sweetest natured and most gentle cat who loves suckling his mom’s hands, rolling on the floor while purring uncontrollably, chasing shadows on the wall, and cuddling with his best friends; Dolly, Floyd, and Willow.
I will provide updates on Grover’s progress as they are available and I have attached photos of his medical bills. I am extremely hopeful for a positive outcome and that after all the tests are performed and after all of his follow-up visits, he will make a full recovery. In the event that the donations exceed the goal, then I will donate the money to someone who is going through a similar situation or to an animal hospital.
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to read this.

Marissa
